Acting Appropriately In Public And Understanding No
Toddlers are very ego-centric . Its totally normal for them to only think about how things will affect them. This almost always leads to inappropriate behaviors as they learn what behaviors get them what they want.
Dont always give in to every cry and teach them that sometimes they cant get everything that they want. Dont always give them the cookie that theyre begging for or the new toy at the store. If they must get the object that they desire, make them earn it.
Teach your 2-year-old how to act appropriately to avoid tantrums in public. Try putting rules in place when you are out so they know what is expected of them. Always have a way to redirect or distract them when you see a tantrum starting . Lastly, just avoid situations that could set them off.

I spent hundreds of hours on Pinterest to search and tweak activities to make the most fun one-year-old curriculum out there! I used it myself, and I get told a lot of compliments about my sons speech and development. Fastforward a year and now I teach sensory classes and help thousands of moms teach their little ones at home.

Estimation Jars Grab some measuring cups and some clear cups or bowls of different sizes and widths. Pour a cup of water into one of the cups. Ask your preschooler to describe how full it is, then pour a cup of water into one of the bowls. Why dont they look the same? Use other materials like noodles, pom-poms, or dried rice to estimate and observe the differences in shallow cups or deep bowls.Legos in a Kiddie Pool Who says you have to build inside? Bring out some Legos and lounge in the sun while building a Lego masterpiece. Watch them float, build a floating vessel, or a water tower that rules the pool. Time to get creative!Summer Smoothies Invite your preschooler to make a refreshing summer smoothie with all of their favorite fruits and vegetables. Encourage them to assist in the kitchen by cutting up the fruits and adding in the liquids. Nows the time to try new varieties of fresh or frozen fruits )and vegetables too)!
Process Art Or Crafts:
I do process art activities or crafts about 3 times per week. Process art are open-ended art activities. There is no final product, just whatever art your preschooler comes up with!
These are the subjects I plan out. I also make sure we have plenty of time to play outside, do learning games, field trips, and read lots of books! I just find that if I plan out our week for these subjects, I feel more successful.
You can download the printable HERE.
I also want to share a few sample schedules for ages 2, 3, and 4-5. 2 year olds are very young to start formal preschool, so I only do 1 main activity with them . Heres what the schedules look like:

Tips For Teaching A New Language To Kids
The most important thing is providing lots and lots of comprehensible input, in context. Comprehensible input is simply language they understand. You want to fill their little minds with Spanish, but not simply flood them with it.
What does this look like?
1.Go in with realistic expectations.
Remember that studying Spanish a few hours a week or less cant compare to the experience of a bilingual child. Thats ok, though: every bit of Spanish your child picks up is a gift and so good for them!
2. Keep it Short
Obviously, toddlers and preschoolers have short attention spans. Switch up activities often and alternate calming and more active activities.
3. Move, Move, Move
Incorporate movement whenever possible. If you are learning animal names, act out the animals as you say them. Dance to the songs and work the wiggles into the learning.
4. Input Before Output
Just as a baby can understand you before they can speak, most kids will understand more Spanish than they can produce. Thats normal and okay! Dont expect them to speak too early, unless they want to.
At the beginning, ask questions that only require one word answers: Do you like apples or bananas? Is this apple red?
5. Visuals and Gestures
Children do best with lots of visuals and objects. You always want to stay comprehensible, using gestures and pictures to support the Spanish theyre hearing.
6. Review, Review, Review
7. Keep it Fun
Kids learn best when it feels like play! Be silly and pour on the praise.

Many parents and teachers are looking beyond lists of isolated words to memorize. We want to teach real, living language!
At the same time, just turning on a Spanish song or TV show sounds like noise to beginners. Its not enough to simply expose our kids to Spanish.
My preschool Spanish materials teach real language in context, so you can feel confident about teaching Spanish. They rely heavily on hands-on activities, songs, games, and stories.
Last year was my first year to teach students younger than 6th grade and I had a homeschool group of kids ranging from 4 years old to 3rd grade! This material was meaningful to ALL of the ages and i was able to adapt some activities for the youngest when necessary. Eased my anxiety about how to teach younger ages because the lessons were so well organized and explained and I had PLENTY of material to use each lesson. Thank you!
My child was not able to enroll in a Spanish pre-school program so I used this to introduce him to academic pre-k concepts in Spanish. He had a smooth transition into a Spanish kindergarten.

Year Old Lesson Plans: Activities By Theme
Wondering what to teach your toddler? Take a look at these 1 year old lesson plans, perfect for little ones. Includes activities by theme!
At a year old, the thought of having a lesson plan can seem crazy. Shes only a toddler, you think. She just finished being a baby.
Still, this is the age when your childs curiosity is limitless. Shes enamored by her world and willing to explore, make mistakes, and keep learning. The goal of creating 1 year old lessons plans isnt so much to teach as it is to give her the opportunity to continue doing what she does best: learning.
Shes building synapses in the brain, putting pieces together to make sense of her surroundings. Educational activities, whether for yourself or even her caregiver, can give everyone a sense of structure and routine. And with weekly toddler lesson plans, you can reinforce a theme over the course of many days.

All About Me Lesson Plans
July 16, 2020 by Lauren Vaughan
All About Me lesson plans provide an interactive and personal way for kids to learn all about themselves and lets face it, preschoolers LOVE to talk and share about themselves! All About Me is a popular theme for back to school and is one of the best preschool themes.
At the preschool age, young children are very egocentric and tend to focus on their own wants and perspectives. Not to fret, this is completely normal and developmentally appropriate for this age group! As children grow older, they start to develop empathy and are able to see different points of view.
Teaching children to share their likes, dislikes, as well as their talents and struggles, helps other children see how we all are different yet unique in our own way. The intentional conversations we create with young children when learning about their ideas and experiences are so important! They help our youngest students build quality relationships and create a sense of belonging amongst each other.
