San Pedro, California is served by the Los Angeles Unified School District. There are also excellent private elementary and high schools in San Pedro. The LAUSD has a Magnet School program. For students living in the Los Angeles Unified School District, magnet schools offer a range of educational possibilities. Magnet programs are voluntary integration opportunities available to students in grades K-12. There are over 130 magnet programs located in centers all over the district, from San Pedro Highs Marine Science Magnet to Sylmar Highs Math Science Tech in the San Fernando Valley. The magnet schools located in San Pedro are the South Shores Performing Arts Magnet, the Dodson Gifted High Ability Magnet, the Police Academy Magnet at San Pedro High School, the San Pedro Marine/Math Science Technology Magnet. San Pedro, with its many educational opportunities, youth programs, athletic programs, parks and recreational opportunities, is a great place to raise a family!

“Tomorrow is my daughter’s last day at ocean view and I’m having a really hard time with it because I absolutely love this school. It was her first time in preschool and I’m soo glad this was the school. The staff is soo absolutely nice and caring, the school is clean and most of all safe. I never had to worry about her while she was in their care. If you’re looking for a preschool for your child this is it. We unfortunately had to move her due to my work schedule but we plan on taking her for the summer program.”
